Embrace : Museum of adoption

Adoption is primarily a relationship between three main souls. The Adoptee, the Birth Mother, and the Adoptive Family. There is so much more than meets the eye to the relationship of these three entities. Embrace seeks to highlight each one. The museum will provide connections and counseling to the adoptee who may be on the journey of self-discovery. For the mother who has parted ways with her child, the museum will act as a community for grieving and a place for expression. For the family welcoming a new child, the museum will provide guidance and necessary tools for research in hopes of preparing the family for the smoothest transition possible. The museum will also invite the people of Asheville to interact with the art exhibitions and community events celebrating the stories of those who have been adopted.
